Mohammed Masood famously known as Sultan is an Afghan violinist. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on 3rd March 1993. However, now he is based out of the capital city of India, New Delhi. He has been honoured with numerous awards and titles. Masood was titled as SULTAN in 2007 by Smt. Gurshaan Kaur, wife of former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh. Sultan started playing violin at the age of 11. He has graduated from Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM). However, he is now learning Indian Classical Music. He regularly performs for the Afghanistan Embassy in Delhi, India. Sultan is also an active participant in the concerts with Indian and Afghan artists.

Sultan Masood is a fine artist when it comes to playing violin, therefore he has worked with various Bollywood artists like Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Nirali Kartik (Mattibaani Mumbai based Band), etc. However, he has been honoured as the 'Genius of Violin' by Ministry of Culture in Kabul, Afghanistan in 2004. Sultan started playing violin at the age of 11 under the guidance of Jalil Sadeed in Western Classical. He started learning Indian Classical at the age of 13 under the guidance of Ustad Ishan Irrfan.

Being exceptional with his skills, Sultan has been blessed to play violin with India’s leading playback singers. To name a few the list includes, B Praak , Tulsi Kumar, Guru Randhawa, Rahul Jain, Farhan Saeed, Swaroop Khan, Gurnazar Chattha, Hritu Zee (Heer) and many others. Sultan is also the lead violinist for Tamasha-the band and he owns a band under the name of Sultanant India. Sultan wants to learn and polish his skills even more as he is recently learning Western Classical from Raja Singh and Indian Classical From DR. Ranjan Shrivastav.

Then he went to ANIM to learn from the best teachers in the field like Ustad Haider Azami, Ustad Basir Hussaini, Zack, Eden Macedom Summer, Tanya, Marc Oyce and William Harvey. Sultan is currently in India studying Indian Classical under the guidance of Ustad Aleem Khan in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. He has performed with famous Afghan singers like Ustad Altaf Hussain Sarahan, Ahmad Fanoos, Farhad Darya, Tawab Arash, Mahmood Kamen and many others. He is also part of a few Indian bands like Tata Science Indian Octave, Credence.

Sultan has performed with a number of International artists like Japanese Pianist Missa JOHOUSCHI (The peace Ambassador of UNESCO), American violinist like Eden Macdom and Indian Sarod Master (Masood's Guru) Ustad Irfan Mohammed Khan. Sultan Masood has been a member of Afghan Music Bands like Sound Studies, Afghan Vision, Voice of Peace, Blue Sky, Aryan Band and Afghanistan Youth Orchestra. He has also taught violin at the Afghanistan Child Education and Care Organisation (AFCECO).
